With the support of the CSS, BRPT and SPA, the Canadian Association of Sleep Technologists “CAST” will be launched in February 2012.
Membership in CAST is included in CSS membership for technologists.

CAST aims to:
- 1. Represent all sleep technologists across Canada as a unified ambulatory medical profession.
- 2. Provide resources, support, interactive open forums and blogs for RPSGT's, registry eligible sleep technologists, healthcare professionals and trainees interested in pursuing a career as an RPSGT.
- 3. Advocate for the regulation of the RPSGT profession in every province and territory in Canada via local colleges or a national RPSGT College and registry.
- 4. Track, monitor and report on the development of sleep technology and sleep technologist employment demographics across Canada and internationally.
- 5. Support the professional development of the evolving and expanding role of the RPSGT in Canada such as; sleep coach, sleep hygiene educator, clinical sleep educator, sleep researcher and PAP technology research and development.
- 6. Liaison with other international sleep technology associations and interdisciplinary ambulatory healthcare technologist professions in Canada.
